ExCo MemberMr SS NaganandVice President | Bar Association of India (INDIA) Mr S S Naganand, 66 years, lives in Bengaluru. He hails from a well- known lawyer family. He is the second son of Late Sri S G Sundaraswamy, an eminent Senior Advocate and former Advocate General of Karnataka.

He took B Com degree from St Joseph's College of Commerce, Bengaluru in 1977. Passed LLB with three gold medals from Renukacharya College, Bangalore in 1980 and in the same year Qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a national merit rank to his credit. He obtained a Diplôme in French language and Civilisation from Alliance Française, Bengaluru in 1977.
He started practice as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 and later the same year as an Advocate. He was designated Senior Advocate by the High Court of Karnataka in 2003. He appears regularly in Supreme Court of India, International Arbitrations and in Karnataka and all other High Courts in India and many tribunals in the areas of arbitration, constitutional law, infrastructure law, intellectual property law, company law and taxation.
In 2008 Mr. Naganand founded a law firm known as Justlaw at Bangalore. It has offices at Bengaluru and New Delhi.
He is currently a Vice President of the Bar Association of India. He was President of the Karnataka (India) Section of the International Commission of Jurists. He is the Chairman of Maharani Laksmi Ammani College Trust and Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (Trust) and a member of the Board of Management of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, a deemed to be University. He is a Trustee of Vedanta Bharati which publishes many books on Hindu philosophy and Samskruta Bharathi which propagates spoken Sanskrit. He is also a founder trustee of Sri Shankaracharya Vangmaya Seva Pariahat, Ayodya and Ananda Jyana- vigyana Parishat Trust.
Widely travelled and a linguist who is fluent in nine languages, he wrote an English commentary on Adi Shankaracharya's Prashnottara Rathna Malika in October 2017 at Bengaluru. He then wrote an English commentary on a concise version entitled Viveeka Deepinee which has been translated into ten Indian Languages which was released by the Vice President of India Sri Venkaiah Naidu in July 2019 in Delhi. He has also authored in 2021 a family story titled Story of the Clan - a legacy untold.
He is happily married to Madhuri and the couple have been blessed with three daughters, all lawyers and 4 grandchildren.
Sri Naganand was conferred with a special honour as a Living Legend in Law by the Bar Association of India in December 2020.
Mr SS Naganand was elected ExCo member of LAWASIA in 2022 and Vice President of LAWASIA in November 2023.
