Mr Michael Tidball
Michael Tidball was appointed Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer of LAWASIA in 2013.
Mr Tidball has an impressive background in policy, executive leadership, project management and consultancy across both the public and private sectors. Prior to his work in the legal industry, Mr Tidball served as a Senior Ministerial Advisor to the New South Wales Government, worked as a departmental leader in financial services, and held a Senior Executive role in the Chief Minister’s Department of the Australian Capital Territory Government.
In 2006, Mr Tidball was appointed Chief Executive Officer at the Law Society of New South Wales, the largest legal professional association in Australia. He currently remains in this position, contributing to the strong organisational relations between the Law Society and LAWASIA. Mr Tidball also maintains his roles as a Director of Lawcover Insurance and member of QL’s Board of Management.
LAWASIA continues to benefit from Mr Tidball’s proactive approach to corporate governance, as well as his genuine commitment to advancing the rule of law, international collaboration and the status of the legal profession in the Asia Pacific.
Conference & Events Manager
Ms Magda Imre
Magda Imre joined the Secretariat in 2014. Magda is responsible for the administration and coordination of LAWASIA’s conferences and other events. She liaises with organising committees and oversees all conference logistics.
Magda has an extensive background in international event management, working with a variety of multinational companies and external stakeholders to provide high-quality professional events.
With over 12 years of events experience and as a Senior Event Manager, she has successfully delivered more than 30 international business summits across Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific. Magda is dedicated to building strong business networks in the Asia Pacific and to providing relevant professional events to LAWASIA’s cross-cultural membership.

Membership & Administration Officer
Ms Kim Shazell
Kim Shazell has worked as the Membership & Administration Officer at LAWASIA since February 2016.
In her current role, Kim looks after LAWASIA members by responding to inquiries, assisting with conference registrations, processing membership applications, and managing all membership and subscription accounts.
Kim has broad international experience, with particular ties to the Philippines and Singapore, where she grew-up. Kim has worked in corporate administration and customer service for over 10 years, including roles in Barcelona, London and Sydney. Thanks to her international background, Kim is a native speaker of English with additional proficiencies in Spanish and Filipino.

Conference & Events Coordinator
Ms Shanna Venter
Shanna joined the Secretariat in 2018 as the Conference & Events Coordinator.
In her role, Shanna assists Magda with the day to day administration, coordination and logistics of LAWASIA’s conferences and other events, to ensure the overall success and smooth running.
Shanna enjoys working with people, and has found her passion for Event Management through her experience in the Corporate Travel & Events, Hospitality and Entertainment Industries.

Communications & Marketing Coordinator, Secretariat
Ms Julie Do
Julie is French and comes from Paris. She has joined the LAWASIA Secretariat team as a Communication and Marketing Coordinator since January 2019. In her current role, Julie is responsible for the development and maintenance of LAWASIA communications, publications, and member resources, including the website, social media, e-newsletters, conference and events collateral, member marketing / promotional material.
After working six years for Deloitte in Paris within the Marketing and Communication department, Julie has decided to move overseas to diversify her experience working for international organisations where she can apply her extensive background in digital marketing.
