Mr Eric Eunyong Yang

Managing Director | Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (SOUTH KOREA)

Eric Eunyong Yang is the President-Elect of the Law Association for Asia and the Pacific (LAWASIA). Since joining the LAWASIA Executive Committee in 2016, he has played an active role in advancing LAWASIA’s mission to strengthen the rule of law, promote human rights, and support access to justice across the Asia-Pacific region. Over the years, he has contributed to the planning and delivery of major regional conferences and programs, supported the preparation and coordination of public statements on key legal and policy developments, and participated in fact-finding and engagement missions aimed at promoting good governance and judicial independence. He has also been closely involved in LAWASIA’s capacity-building initiatives for developing jurisdictions, supporting the exchange of expertise and practical know-how among member bars and law societies throughout the region.

In addition to his leadership within LAWASIA, Mr Yang is the Managing Director of the Singapore office of Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (BKL), one of Korea’s largest law firms, and leads BKL’s Asia Practice. He has over 20 years of experience advising on large-scale cross-border investments and handling complex disputes involving multiple Asian jurisdictions. He previously served as Vice President (International Affairs) of the Korean Bar Association, where he contributed to international outreach and engagement with peer legal institutions.

Mr Yang earned his LL.B. from Korea University and his LL.M. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Recognized for his expertise in international trade and foreign investment, he advises clients on foreign direct investment, offshore financing, and a wide range of international disputes. He also has broad experience in infrastructure and development projects, including power and natural resources projects. Mr Yang remains actively engaged in professional thought leadership, including publishing practical guidelines on foreign investment and speaking at seminars and conferences across Asia, including Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Cambodia.
