LAWASIA Committee Webinar Month
When RCEP Meets The Belt And Road Initiative
Sponsored by:
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement between 10 member countries of ASEAN and China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand was signed on 15 November 2020, bringing together about 30% of the world's population (2.2 billion people) and 30% of global GDP ($26.2 trillion) and making it the biggest trade bloc in history. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) one of the largest infrastructure development and investment projects in history, intersects with RCEP via ASEAN and other RCEP BRI countries, thereby creating opportunities for business, investment and economic development, and the potential for lifting millions of people out of poverty in the post Covid 19 pandemic recovery.
This timely LAWASIA Belt And Road Webinar will explore ways in which RCEP and BRI can support each other and promote regional cooperation, connectivity and supply chain alignment and resilience against the backdrop of a post Covid 19 pandemic recovery.
