Practising Law During a War

What becomes of law firms during violent times? What steps can they take in anticipation? During the war, can they continue to operate, and if so, how? As the economy, government and society changes, how do they respond? On a practical matter, do they remain in the cities in crisis or relocate? If so, where do they go? How does multiple offices impact this process? And, what of their employees? What steps do and can they take to protect them?

In this program, we will feature Mr Timur Bondaryev, Managing Partner of Ukraine’s largest law firm who will address these issues and how his firm responded. To put the issues in a broader perspective, Mr Andy Hunder, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine will describe how other businesses have addressed the issues.

This crisis management program has implications and lessons for firms facing natural disasters such as earthquakes, and typhons, as well as others such as demonstrations, riots, etc.
