This webinar will deal with the applicable principles and conventions when a popularly elected government subsequently suffers a loss of majority support in Parliament. How is a new government to be formed? Does the new government enjoy legal legitimacy, particularly in a democratic system of government? Is there a need to return the mandate to the electorate to determine the choice of government?

LAWASIA, The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific, is a regional association of lawyers, judges, jurists and legal organisations, which advocates for the interests and concerns of the Asia Pacific legal profession.
