Nominations open for LAWASIA Human Rights and Rule of Law Award 2026!

LAWASIA is calling for nominations for its Human Rights and Rule of Law Award 2026


Criteria
The award is made to an individual legal practitioner who has made an outstanding personal contribution to the administration of justice,
the protection of human rights and maintenance of the rule of law in the Asia-Pacific region.


Eligibility
Any LAWASIA member organisation or individual member may submit a nomination. A nominee need not be a current individual member of LAWASIA.


The Award
The award will be presented each year at LAWASIA’s annual conference. LAWASIA will pay the airfare, accommodation and registration costs to enable the successful nominee to attend the annual conference in order to receive the award.

Nomination process
Nominations must be submitted via email to lawasia@lawasia.asn.au and must include the completed Nomination Form as an attachment..


Assessment process
Nominations will be assessed by an independent panel. The 2026 panel will be chaired by Justice (Ret’d) Indu Malhotra.
