LAWASIA, The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bar Council Malaysia, The German Federal Bar and the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) are delighted to invite members and legal professionals for the prestigious International Conference on Arbitration, scheduled to take place on 7th September 2023 in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Auditorium Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC).

What does the future hold for the world of dispute resolution? Our world is changing at a dramatic pace, and so is the micro-cosmos international dispute resolution.

The Coronavirus pandemic gave the digitization of dispute resolution processes a further push, from online case management systems all the way to hearings held remotely. Yet, these drastic shifts are just the beginning with further changes on the rise. Applications of metaverse – a 3D virtual space where humans experience life in ways they could not in the physical world – and artificial intelligence are set to see exponential growth rates in the years to come, with significant impacts for how we resolve disputes. As new fields of business and opportunities emerge, the dispute resolution industry will need to adapt and, at least to some extent, reinvent itself.

This applies not only in a micro-setting, but also in a broader scheme, such as how current mechanisms like arbitration and mediation can be successfully combined.

Main conference topics include:

  • Future of Arbitration - The New Digital Way
  • New Age Commercial Disputes in International Arbitration
  • Mediation and Arbitration
