8th Family Law and Children's Rights Conference 2020:
Vision 2020: Through the Eyes of a Child
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE
Message from the Co-Chairs of Organising Committee
8TH FAMILY LAW & CHILDREN’S RIGHTS CONFERENCE POSTPONED TO 11-14 JULY 2021
Due to the ongoing concerns and the unprecedented escalation and spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, and the travel bans and restrictions issued by many governments in Asia and the Pacific region, the Conference Organising Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the 8th Family Law & Children’s Rights Conference 2020, Singapore to 11-14 July 2021.
We understand the inconvenience rescheduling the conference may have caused to those who have already planned their trips. It is, however, our duty to do everything we can to prevent the virus from spreading, and we wish to reassure all our attendees and support staff that health and safety is our paramount concern and priority. Our sympathies are with those directly affected during this difficult time and we will follow up with all those who were scheduled to attend the conference.
Registrants will be advised separately on refund policy and we are pleased to advise that Singapore Airlines has agreed to waive the rebooking fees associated with the rescheduling.
In the meantime, we encourage conference attendees to visit the conference website for special announcements and further details.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to your continued support and to meeting you at the rescheduled conference in July 2021.

The Conference is a major international event focussing on Family Law processes and the rights of children and youth. A platform for the convergence of lawyers, judges, academics, government, non-governments associations, psychologists, medical professionals and social scientists with a common interest in the active protection of children and in sharing best practices to promote the rights of children and family law issues.
Held in the bustling city of Singapore, the Conference will examine a range of topics such as:
- new approaches to family justice and child issues;
- the exploitation of children;
- protecting especially vulnerable children;
- changing family formations;
- international families;
- social media and children;
- adoption, surrogacy, parentage;
- a diagnosis and possible interventions for troubles families;
- financial rights, including property, offshore assets, cryptocurrencies.
As well as international, social and cultural considerations.
In addition, in a world of highly mobile families, the conference will give attention to the ways in which family law meets the various needs of families in whatever form, in order to provide a structure which can effectively and justly provide for its members who are the subject of relationship breakdown.
Visit the conference website for further details about the themes and potential topics for presentations.
We look forward to welcoming you at the conference!
