The LAWASIA Human Rights committee in conjunction with the LAWASIA Environmental Law and the LAWASIA Indigenous Communities and Peoples committees, are delighted to announce that the 6th LAWASIA Human Rights Conference 2026 will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 11 - 12 May 2026.

Join leading voices from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond for two days of vital conversation, collaboration, and action on the most urgent human rights challenges of our time.

This year’s theme — Human Rights under Threat: Meeting the Challenges from Repression, Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence & the Decline of the Rule of Law — sets the stage for a powerful and forward-looking dialogue among lawyers, judges, academics, and human rights advocates.

Call for Speakers Open

Submission guidelines and Requirements:

The conference will have four themes – Human Rights, Environmental Rights, Indigenous Rights and ESG.

There will be parallel sessions. Each session will have a maximum of 3-4 speakers, each speaker will have 12 minutes (maximum) to allow for questions from the floor. Moderators will NOT be allowed to speak, only to introduce the speakers and guide the discussion.

Please note that LAWASIA is not able to provide any financial assistance for speakers. Speakers must pay for their registration fee, travel and accommodation costs.

Submissions will be reviewed and assessed by the organising committee. Submission deadline: 21 December 2025

Conference Information

Delegates are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to the conference. Please note that LAWASIA is unable to provide assistance with accommodation or cover any conference-related costs.

Conference Venue
The conference will be held at Chatrium Riverside Bangkok, which is also the official conference hotel.

Accommodation
Delegates are encouraged to make their own accommodation arrangements in Bangkok. Rooms are available at the conference hotel, and there are a variety of other nearby hotels to suit different budgets and preferences.
