Crossing Borders: Human Rights Violations and Lawyers’ Advocacy

LAWASIA's Human Rights Committee, in association with the Japan Federation of Bar Associations (JFBA) and the Fukuoka Bar Association, is pleased to invite the participation of members and legal professionals at the 4th LAWASIA Human Rights Conference to be held face-to-face in Fukuoka, Japan, from Saturday 2 to Monday 4 September 2023.
Many human rights violations take place crossing borders, and advocacy to redress them is also carried on by lawyers' network crossing borders as well. The 4th Human Rights Conference will explore how lawyers could work together to address human rights violations.
Topics will include armed conflicts, refugees and immigration, penal reforms including abolishment of death penalty, global warming and rights of children, gender violence and business and human rights.

KBA-JFBA Joint Seminar: Exploring Cross Border Collaboration between Korea and Japan on Human Rights Lawyering
In conjunction with the 4th LAWASIA Human Rights Conference in Fukuoka, Japan, the Japan Federation of Bar Associations (JFBA) and the Korean Bar Association (KBA) will co-host a complimentary seminar on the theme of "Exploring Cross-Border Collaboration between Japan and Korea in Human Rights Lawyering" on the 2nd of September 2023 from 15:30 to 18:00 JST.

- Recent Development of Immigration Detention Issues
The JFBA and the KBA are pleased to invite all legal professionals including non-members.
