LAWASIA Manual on International Right to Remedy

We are delighted to announce the first edition of the Human Rights Lawyers’ Network Meeting for 2026 –– the 17th Meeting of the LAWASIA Human Rights Lawyers' Network is scheduled for Wednesday, 11th March 2026, online via Zoom.

This meeting will focus on the LAWASIA Manual on International Right to Remedy released by LAWASIA in September 2025. The discussion will bring together diverse perspectives on the practical benefits of the Manual and areas where it can be further developed. The LAWASIA Manual on the International Right to Remedy (2025) builds on the LAWASIA Toolkit on Business and Human Rights (2018) and reflects LAWASIA’s continued commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16, which calls for access to justice, accountability, and effective institutions.

The Manual seeks to support action where domestic remedies are inadequate, but also to prompt reflection within the profession on how remedy mechanisms are functioning and ways in which it can be strengthened to be made more accessible.

Our panel of esteemed speakers from Australia and South Korea will lead the discussion on the topic. We hope to explore the utility of the Manual as a practical resource and have an open discussion on ways to carry it forward.

Please mark your calendars and register your participation today by clicking the link below. Kindly note that this meeting will start an hour later than usual
