The conference will be held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School (HKUST) located at the prestigious Hong Kong Club Building in the financial hub of Central. The HKUST has a 180 degree sweeping view of the impressive harbour for you to enjoy.

Visa and Entry Requirements

Visas are entirely the responsibility of the delegate. Useful information can be obtained from the Hong Kong Immigration department at http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm. Should you require any information from conference organisers to assist please contact lawasia@lawasia.asn.au.

Climate

Hong Kong's climate is sub-tropical with harm and humid weather. The average daytime temperature for the month of September is a comfortable 27 degrees Celcius.

Language

The official working language of the conference is English. The official languages of Hong Kong are Cantonese and English. English is fluently spoken among the business community and at tourist destinations. All official signs contain English.  

Currency

The currency used in Hong Kong is the Hong Kong Dollar (HK$). Money exchanging services can be found at Airports, Banks, hotels, major retail outlets.

Licensed money changers, such as Thomas Cook and Chequepoint are generally open everyday and late into the evening. Major banks are open 9am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12:30pm on Saturday. Banks are closed on Sundays and public holidays. 

Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) can be found in abundance throughout Hong Kong and will generally accept Visa and MasterCard.

Transport

Hong Kong has a well developed underground and overland rail system known as the Mass Transit System (MTR). The MTR is efficient and is the fastest way to get around Hong Kong. Fares can be paid using an Octopus Card or by purchasing a daily pass.

Taxis are also readily available and provide convenient and fast travel.
