Justice Margaret Wilson has been a judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland since August 1998. Before her appointment to the Bench, she practised at the private Bar for almost twenty years, taking silk in 1992.
Since her judicial appointment, her Honour has presided over a wide range of criminal and civil trials and applications, and she has sat on the Court of Appeal hearing criminal and civil appeals. For 3 years she was the Judge constituting the Mental Health Court and most recently, she has been appointed as one of the judges responsible for the Supreme Court of Queensland’s Commercial List.
One of her interests is procedural reform, and she has been a member of the Rules Committee since 1999. She is also a member of the Judges’ Committee which consults with the architects and builder of the new Supreme and District Courts complex currently under construction in Brisbane.
Mr Wayne Li
Wayne was admitted to practice in PRC in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Wayne worked as a legal professional in two multinational insurance companies, i.e. Pacific-ING Life Insurance Company Ltd,. Co. and American International Group. Recently, Wayne has been seconding to Aon-COFCO, a world-famous insurance broker corporation, as legal counsel.
Wayne has substantial experience in the following areas:
Advising insurance company on litigation cases
Drafting or approving contracts of insurance company/insurance broker corporation and providing legal comments
Reviewing products developed by insurance company and providing legal comments
Providing legal comments on major issues of insurance company or insurance broker corporation
