This small but active section is dedicated to the facilitation of exchange of information in relation to developments in Energy Law in the Asia Pacific region. The Energy Law Standing Committee was transformed into a Section in 1983 and over its life as both a Standing Committee and a Section, it has held eleven (11) stand alone conferences throughout the region.  It is a regular contributor to the annual LAWASIA conference.

The aim of the Section is to provide communication and information flow between lawyers and entrepreneurs whose primary interest is the highly specialised area of Energy Law and the energy business sector in the Asia and Pacific region. Members have achieved this aim through the attendance at the specialty conferences noted above and more importantly, through the networking opportunities offered by membership of the Section.
