33rd LAWASIA Conference 2020

CONFERENCE CANCELLED

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – 33rd LAWASIA Conference 2020 CANCELLED

After careful consideration, LAWASIA, in consultation with the Mongolian Bar Association, has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s 33rd LAWASIA Conference 2020, which was due to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 7 - 10 September 2020.

Our paramount concern is for the health and well-being of LAWASIA members, conference delegates and speakers, members of the local bar and conference staff. Due to the impact and spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the international travel restrictions in place, it will no longer be possible to hold a physical conference on the proposed dates. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Despite not being able to meet physically this year, LAWASIA is excited to announce that we will organise a series of webinars during September and October 2020. This will provide our members a platform for continued collaboration and the cross-jurisdictional sharing of information despite the current challenges.

We will announce further details about the webinars shortly. In the meantime, please keep an eye on the LAWASIA website for further organisational updates.

We look forward to connecting with you at future LAWASIA conferences and during the upcoming webinars. Stay safe and healthy.

33rd LAWASIA Conference

7-10 September 2020 | Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

LAWASIA and the Mongolian Bar Association is proud to present the 33rd LAWASIA Conference being held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 7 to 10 September 2020.

The Annual Conference is LAWASIA's flagship event and the highlight of its professional events program. The Conference is a must attend event for all practitioners looking to adopt groundbreaking business practices to maximise their competitive edge. The Annual Conference is designed to facilitate the discussion of regional developments in law, including issues such as crossborder business and investment law, cross-border dispute resolution, judicial practice and legal education.

The Annual Conference also serves as an important forum for sharing ideas, building professional networks, reinforcing shared professional values, advocating for the rule of law in varied jurisdictions, and advancing the status of the legal profession in the Asia Pacific.

If Mongolia’s yin is its pristine countryside, then its capital Ulaanbaatar (UB) harmonises as its vibrant yang, UB is a sprawling, industrialised city of pulsating commerce, wild traffic, nightlife and bohemian counterculture. Mongolia in September (autumn) has nature at its best, full of colourful landscapes and spectacular natural habitats.
